What counts as specialised translation?

Work where accuracy depends on subject knowledge rather than language alone: engineering and technical files, contracts and corporate records, financial statements, and clinical or pharmaceutical documents. These are assigned to translators with a track record in that field.

How is terminology kept consistent across a long project?

A glossary is agreed at the start, applied by the translator and checked by a second linguist at review. For repeat clients the glossary is retained so later batches match earlier deliveries.

Can technical drawings and tables be reproduced?

Layout is mirrored as closely as the source allows, including tables, headings, stamps and signature blocks. Where an element cannot be reproduced it is described in a bracketed translator's note rather than silently dropped.

Do medical translations need a certified translator too?

If an Australian body will receive the document, the same certification requirement applies as for any other document. Clinical accuracy is a separate matter handled by assigning a translator experienced in medical text.

How is confidentiality handled for commercial documents?

Files are shared only with the translator and reviewer working on the job, and a confidentiality undertaking can be signed before files are sent if your side requires one.

What counts as a specialised translation?

Material where a wrong term changes the meaning: medical records, pharmaceutical documentation, engineering specifications, patents, financial statements and litigation documents. These are matched to a translator with subject knowledge, not just the language pair.

Can I supply my own glossary?

Yes, and it is strongly encouraged for technical and corporate work. A client glossary of product names, job titles and internal terminology is applied consistently across the set and kept for future jobs so later documents match earlier ones.

How is confidentiality handled for sensitive documents?

Files are shared only with the translator and reviewer assigned to the job, transferred over the channel you choose, and not published or reused. Where your organisation requires its own confidentiality undertaking, send it with the request.
