Medical Document Translation Package

Short answer

This package covers medical certificates, treatment summaries, laboratory results, prescriptions and vaccination records. Translators familiar with clinical terminology handle the work, generic and brand drug names are preserved as printed, and no clinical result is interpreted or commented on.

Medical documents are easier to mistranslate than most, because one clinical abbreviation can mean several things. Good practice is to preserve the original and add a note where it is ambiguous, rather than guess.

What the package includes

  • Full translation including hospital letterhead, seals and physician signatures
  • Drug names, dosages and units preserved as printed, with notes where needed
  • Result tables laid out line for line against the original
  • Certification statement, signature and stamp from a certified translator

What you need to send us

  • Legible medical certificate or treatment summary
  • Laboratory results and imaging reports, if relevant
  • Prescriptions and vaccination records
  • Receiving authority and purpose of the submission

How the work runs

  1. 1Legibility checkReview handwriting and abbreviations; request a typed copy from the hospital if unreadable.
  2. 2TranslateA medically experienced translator works while preserving drug names and units.
  3. 3ReviewA second reviewer verifies figures, dates and terminology consistency.
  4. 4Certify and deliverIssue certification and deliver in the required format.

Indicative starting ranges

  • NAATI-certified translationTHB 1,500–2,500 per page

Varies with text volume, document type and language pair.

  • Thai–English translationTHB 500–1,200 per page

These are indicative starting ranges. The final figure depends on text volume, document type, language pair and the number of copies, and is confirmed once we have seen your files.

What the service fee does not cover

  • Interpreting results or offering any clinical opinion
  • Obtaining records from a hospital on your behalf
  • Hospital, insurer or authority fees

Turnaround

Varies with page count; multi-year histories take considerably longer than a single certificate.

Our advisory role

We ask whether the recipient needs the entire history or only the relevant period. In many cases the physician's summary is enough, which costs far less than translating a full medical file.

Points to watch

  • Health data is sensitive; send files only through the channel agreed with us
  • Ambiguous clinical abbreviations should be confirmed by the issuing doctor rather than guessed
  • Some immigration health checks must be done at panel clinics; a translation cannot replace them

Frequently asked questions

Do you translate the entire medical file?

Not always necessary. Many recipients accept the physician's summary, so check the requirement first.

How are drug names handled?

Generic and brand names are kept as printed in the original, with a note where clarification helps.

Is health information kept confidential?

Yes. Access is limited to the translator and reviewer assigned to your job.

Choose a package by document path, not by item count

Packages exist to show what a complete job contains, but we always look at your actual bundle and the receiving authority first. If the package you had in mind contains a step your bundle does not need, we remove it rather than charge for it.

What we check before starting

  • What format the receiving authority accepts, and which package matches it exactly
  • Whether any item is already issued in English by the source office
  • Work order: which step must finish before the next can start, so nothing is redone
  • How many certified copies you actually need

Where we tell you not to spend

  • If your bundle only needs certified translation, do not buy a package that bundles further legalisation
  • Documents lodged together can usually be processed as one bundle, lowering per-item handling
  • Steps you can complete yourself, such as requesting source records, we tell you to do yourself

What we do not promise

  • The receiving authority decides the outcome; we do not promise results
  • Government fees and processing times vary with the period and the workload of each office
  • We do not give legal, financial or medical advice beyond the scope of translation and certification

Reviewed August 2025. Confirm current requirements with the receiving authority before lodging.
