You do not need a translator close to your address. A NAATI certified translation is delivered as a signed, certified PDF you can upload straight into an online lodgement portal. What is worth checking instead is the translator's certification status on the NAATI register and any formatting rule published by the authority receiving the document.
Files can be sent at any hour by email or LINE; work starts within Thailand business hours (UTC+7). If you are on Australia's east coast, documents sent early in your morning enter the same Thai working day. The actual turnaround depends on page count and document complexity, not on distance.
Signing before a Notarial Services Attorney has to happen in person, so choose a provider you can physically reach. Tell us first what the receiving authority asked for: some documents need a witnessed signature, others only a certified translation, and knowing which avoids an unnecessary trip.
Legalisation of Thai documents is handled by the Department of Consular Affairs under the rules it publishes, regardless of which province you are in. We set the correct order of steps before starting so the translation does not have to be redone after certification.
Speed depends on how complete your scans are rather than how close you are. Send every page, make sure stamps and signatures are legible, and state the date you need it by; we confirm scope and delivery time in writing before work begins.
Australian authorities look at the translator's certification status, not the translator's city. A translation produced by a NAATI certified translator is accepted the same way in every state, unless the receiving authority publishes an extra formatting condition of its own.
