Police Clearance Certificate Preparation Package

Short answer

This package covers identifying the correct certificate type, preparing the application, coordinating fingerprinting in the required format, tracking issue, and translating and certifying the result where the destination asks for it. Issue times are controlled entirely by the issuing authority and vary with its queue.

A police clearance certificate is the hardest item in a visa bundle to schedule, because its timing belongs to the issuing office. Sequencing the rest of the bundle around it matters more than trying to rush any single step.

What the package includes

  • Confirmation of which certificate type applies and whether the destination country must be named on it
  • Preparation of the application and supporting documents in the required format
  • Coordination of fingerprinting to the specification the issuing office accepts
  • Status tracking and collection once issued
  • Certified translation where the destination requires it

What you need to send us

  • Passport bio page, and Thai ID card for Thai nationals
  • House registration or proof of address where required
  • Passport-standard photographs to the stated specification
  • The destination country and the purpose of the request
  • A completed fingerprint card where you are applying from overseas

How the work runs

  1. 1Identify the correct certificateRequirements differ between certificates for domestic use and those for visa or overseas use.
  2. 2Prepare the applicationForms and supporting documents are assembled to the issuing office's current specification.
  3. 3Arrange fingerprintingFingerprints are taken in the accepted format, including via a local police station when applying from abroad.
  4. 4Lodge and trackThe application is submitted and its status followed until issue.
  5. 5Translate and certify if requiredWhere the destination reads English, the certificate is translated and certified after issue.

Indicative starting ranges

  • Police clearance certificate for overseas useTHB 4,000–8,000 per application
  • Police clearance certificate for use in ThailandTHB 2,000 per application

These are indicative starting ranges. The final figure depends on text volume, document type, language pair and the number of copies, and is confirmed once we have seen your files.

What the service fee does not cover

  • Government fees charged by the issuing authority
  • Fingerprinting fees charged by a local police station overseas
  • Courier and international delivery costs
  • Any influence over the content of the record itself

Turnaround

Set by the issuing authority's queue and by whether fingerprints must travel internationally. Plan this item first and build the rest of the bundle around it.

Our advisory role

If your lodgement date is close, we will say plainly whether the certificate can realistically arrive in time, and which other documents should be finalised first so nothing else becomes the bottleneck.

Points to watch

  • A certificate issued for domestic use is frequently refused for a visa application
  • Some destinations require the country of use to be printed on the certificate
  • Many authorities treat the certificate as valid only for a limited period
  • Poor-quality fingerprints are a common cause of an application being returned

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply from outside Thailand?

Yes. Fingerprints are usually taken at a local police station and sent with the application, which adds transit time.

How long does the certificate stay valid?

Validity is set by the authority that will read it, commonly a matter of months. Confirm before you order.

Does the certificate need certified translation?

For Australian and most overseas submissions, yes. We handle that step after issue.

Can you speed up issue?

No. The issuing office controls timing; we can only ensure the application is complete on the first attempt.

Choose a package by document path, not by item count

Packages exist to show what a complete job contains, but we always look at your actual bundle and the receiving authority first. If the package you had in mind contains a step your bundle does not need, we remove it rather than charge for it.

What we check before starting

  • What format the receiving authority accepts, and which package matches it exactly
  • Whether any item is already issued in English by the source office
  • Work order: which step must finish before the next can start, so nothing is redone
  • How many certified copies you actually need

Where we tell you not to spend

  • If your bundle only needs certified translation, do not buy a package that bundles further legalisation
  • Documents lodged together can usually be processed as one bundle, lowering per-item handling
  • Steps you can complete yourself, such as requesting source records, we tell you to do yourself

What we do not promise

  • The receiving authority decides the outcome; we do not promise results
  • Government fees and processing times vary with the period and the workload of each office
  • We do not give legal, financial or medical advice beyond the scope of translation and certification

Reviewed August 2025. Confirm current requirements with the receiving authority before lodging.
