Questions about finding the right service

Reviewed August 2026. Requirements change — confirm with the receiving authority before lodging.

How does the service finder work?

Type the document you are holding — birth certificate, transcript, driver licence — and the finder matches it against the service pages by name, description and common alternative wordings. You can then narrow the results by document type and by the language you need.

What if I misspell the document name?

The finder tolerates small typing slips and partial words, so 'certifikate' or 'transcrip' still returns the expected pages. If nothing appears, shorten the term to one distinctive word.

Why do results change when I pick a language?

Choosing a language adds a card linking to that language pair's page, where you can read transliteration notes, date-format issues and the documents most often requested for it. It does not remove services, because the same document services apply across languages.

My document is not in the list. What should I do?

Search a broader term first — 'government', 'education', 'medical' — because many specific documents are covered inside a wider service page. If you still cannot find it, send the document to us on LINE and we will point you to the right page.

How are the results ordered?

Exact matches on the service name come first, then matches at the start of a word, then matches inside the description or alternative wordings. Within the same relevance band the order is stable, so a repeated search returns the same list.

Can I search in Thai on the English page?

Yes. Thai document names are indexed alongside the English ones, so typing a Thai term on the English finder still matches. Results link to the English service pages.

What do the document types mean?

They group services by the kind of paperwork involved — civil registry, education, government and legal, immigration, and specialised. Use them when you know the family of the document but not the exact page.

Does the finder tell me the price?

No. Cost depends on the document, the language direction and the certification chain, so we quote in writing after seeing the file. Send the document on LINE for a quote before any work begins.

Which page should I read if I am unsure about the certification type?

Start with the comparison of NAATI, certified and notarised translation. It explains who issues each one, what the reader sees on the page, and which Australian bodies typically ask for which.

Do you keep a record of what I search?

The finder runs entirely in your browser: the filters and the text you type are not sent to a server and are not stored with your enquiry. Only the documents you deliberately send us are received.

Not sure which certification you need? Compare them on NAATI vs certified vs notarised, browse all services or read the FAQ.
