Step by step

2. Have fingerprints taken locally
Fingerprints are taken by the police authority or Thai mission accepted for your location. Keep the card flat and undamaged; smudged prints are the most common reason an overseas file is returned.
3. Lodge with the supporting documents
Send the application, fingerprint card and supporting documents through the accepted channel, or have an authorised representative lodge in Thailand under a power of attorney the Centre accepts.
4. Receive the certificate and check it
Check the name, date of birth, document number and date of issue against your passport. Errors must be corrected by the issuing authority before translation.
5. Translate and lodge online
Send colour scans by LINE or email and receive a digitally signed PDF translation for online lodgement together with a copy of the original.

- • Taking fingerprints at a provider the Centre does not accept, so the card has to be redone.
- • A power of attorney that does not match the wording or certification the Centre requires.
